The name

ὥς οἱ συμφράσσαιτο θεὰ ἀγαθόν τε κακόν τε

So that the goddess would counsel him on good and ill.

Hesiod, Theogony 900

Metis was the Titan of wise counsel. In Hesiod’s telling, Zeus took her inside himself so that she would advise him from within, and their daughter Athena, born from his head, gave Athens the olive tree.

The studio takes its name from her, and the olive from her daughter.
